Soul RetrievalSoul Retrieval Bristol

In order to cope with a distressing or traumatic situation (this could be anything from one situation to years of abuse) one of the ways we protect ourselves is to remove part our consciousness or soul. Another way of saying this is to say that part of our soul can leave our body in order to protect us from a situation - emotional and physical. This way of protecting ourselves serves us at the time and can be very effective in guarding us from pain and hurt. This is termed as Soul Loss, although it is also recognized in psychology and therapy as dissociation.

However, if this part of us does not 'return', the the consequences can be painful and profound.

The process of Soul Retrieval
I journey with the person to find the lost part of themselves. I take the lead, and am working in both realities. I have found this to be more empowering for an individual than me going to get the part and the person remaining passive. This way of working also makes the process more conscious, and so the process of integration is easier. This also empowers the souls owner and also develops their own abilities to journey.
There are times when a person may be too distressed by the loss or finds it difficult to journey - in which case I can find the part and bring it back. This process will be negotiated by us when we work together in order that you feel as empowered as possible.

Example
Jenny experienced seeing her parents hitting each other when she was a little girl. In order to cope with the experience, part of her soul left her body so that she did not feel all the pain of the situation. This really helped Jenny at the time, as the situation was far too much for her to cope with. However, as an adult, this part of herself was still missing. Part of her psyche was frozen in that moment. So we journey together and we find this frozen little girl. Part of her is still in the lounge curled up in the corner starting at the clock on the wall with her fingers in her ears trying not to hear the screaming (As an adult Jenny is partially deaf with no medical explanation). And so I encourage little Jenny to ease her fingers out of her ears, and we both let her know she's safe. At this point I encourage a dialogue between the two parts, in order that the lost part agrees to come back. Sometimes they ask for certain things - like lots of cuddles, chocolate, or a promise to take care of them.

All the time this is going on, I am working in both realities, helping to keep Jenny on her journey - and when the time is right, to help bring them both back safely. Sometimes spirit allies work in partnership with us to assist the process. Sometimes they are associated with the person whose soul is lost (e.g. a relative who is in the spirit world or a power animal that is already working with the person).

This is just one example. Every Soul Retrieval is different. I have explained the process here in order to de-mistify the process as much as possible so that it may not sound a frightening or dangerous experience.

Integrating the newly found soul
Sometimes this lost part jumps straight into the persons body and sometimes the process of integration takes longer. However it goes, this process is then supported in subsequent sessions so that the newly found soul can be integrated into daily existence.

After-effects
The list here is endless. Often, there is a sense of joy and sadness at getting this lost part back. You may experience feeling more complete, a relief of uncomfortable body symptoms, more energy or an increase in wanting to be playful (as often the parts got lost during childhood) However, it's impossible to gauge exactly what will happen afterwards. It is important to highlight that there may be more than one lost part and this process may need revisiting.
